About Me  — Marcus Janzow

From the time I was a kid exploring creeks, woods, and playing sports, I’ve always felt most at home outdoors. Growing up, my family shared that same love for adventure—our travels took us from the beach, to the mountains, but ultimately back to Missouri landscapes.. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong appreciation for nature that continues to shape who I am today.

My years working for the Missouri Department of Conservation deepened that connection, and as I continued to travel with my camera and pursue outdoor interests like backpacking, fly-fishing, and cycling, I found myself drawn to capturing those fleeting moments that make the outdoors so unforgettable. What began as a desire to document the beauty around me soon grew into a passion for outdoor and adventure photography—a way to preserve and share the emotions and energy that define each experience.

Photography has evolved into an essential part of who I am.  It’s been said, “The camera is the save button for the mind’s eye.”  I continue to pursue and share my relationship with nature through my images, inspired by the natural environment that surrounds me.

Journey through the lens with me — I’m Marcus Janzow, outdoor photographer based in St. Louis, Missouri.
