Ever since I was a kid, I have loved being outdoors exploring in creeks and woods and playing sports.  I was happiest being outside! I was also fortunate enough to have a family that loved to travel and our trips took us from surfing at the beach, and camping along scenic rivers, to hiking in the mountains. All of these adventures fostered my deep appreciation for nature.

My years with the conservation department further developed my love for nature and as I continued to travel, pursuing hobbies in the outdoors like backpacking, fly-fishing and photography, I found myself wanting to capture these special moments in time through my camera lens. As my passion for outdoor photography grew, I found it rewarding to be able to capture, preserve and showcase the beauty and emotions in all these moments of adventure sports and nature.

Past several years have presented an opportunity for me to capture outdoor sports, including, but not limited to, triathlons, trail running, rugby, mountain biking and bike polo. Photographing all these high energy, outdoor adventure sports has taken me on a journey to challenge myself not only to capture sometimes wild, sometimes intense and other times raw emotions of the competitors but, also to change my entire outlook on outdoor sports. What started as a leisurely hobby has since become an important part of who I am and what I do as a photographer.
As I continue to adventure through my lens, I hope to keep creating memories of those special moments for the competitors and to share them with everyone that shares my passion for the great outdoors.
Roger Kingston once said: “The camera is the save button for the mind's eyes.” I hope to not only see, savor but also continue to save these moments in time!
